Principals Message

Welcome to Excelsior Primary School and the beginning of another exciting year of learning. We warmly welcome all returning families and those joining our school community for the first time, from Kindergarten through to Year 6. We value the strong partnerships we build with families and believe that working together is essential in supporting every child to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Excelsior Primary School is a high achieving Independent Public School committed to developing excellence, inclusivity and innovative thinking. Guided by our school motto, Excite, Explore, Excel, and our whole school ethos, The Excelsior Way, we provide a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment where every student is encouraged to reach for the stars and achieve their aspirations.

We are proud of the rich opportunities available to our students across all areas of learning. Alongside strong academic programs, students are encouraged to develop their creativity through Performing Arts and Visual Arts, build confidence through leadership opportunities and strengthen their social and emotional wellbeing through positive relationships and inclusive practices. We are committed to nurturing resilient, reflective and successful learners who are empowered to strive for personal excellence.

At Excelsior, we are committed to high quality teaching and learning experiences that support every student to achieve growth and success. Our dedicated staff work collaboratively to create culturally responsive classrooms where students feel valued, connected and empowered as learners.

As an Independent Public School, we are well positioned to respond to the needs and aspirations of our students and wider community by ensuring resources, programs and opportunities are aligned to achieving the best possible outcomes for every child.

The Parent Handbook provides important information about school policies, procedures and the many programs and opportunities available at Excelsior Primary School. We encourage all families to read the handbook and keep it for future reference throughout the year.

Communication between home and school is highly valued at Excelsior. Families are encouraged to regularly access Compass, CONNECT, our school website and newsletters to stay informed about important updates, events, learning programs and school information throughout the year.

We look forward to continuing to work in partnership with our families and wider community to ensure every student experiences success, belonging and a lifelong love of learning at Excelsior Primary School.
